Sadly, you have fallen for the ol' OEM fallacy. You Window's license is not free, you simply paid for it as part of your purchase of the PC... Dell used to have a similar program for Linux actually. Compaq, before they were bought by HP, also had a similar program, but IIRC it was for their proprietary Linux based OS.
